Rome has always been my starting point as I travel in Italy, well at least the airport I fly into as I’ve taken a few train trips from France and Germany, but Rome is usually the beginning and end to my journeys.
When in Rome I usually stay at the Artemide Hotel as it’s centrally located to the Colosseum, Pantheon, Trevi Fountain, and I just love feeling part of this city, so it makes sense for me to stay in the heart of it. I’ve also always had good interactions with the staff here, I know the common belief is that people in Rome can be a little rude, personally I don’t see it being any different than any other big city, but it is nice when you find a place like the Artemide that go above and beyond in the name of service.
There are tons of great places to eat in Rome, I usually pick the places that are a little out of the way, but since I tend to enjoy people watching you’ll also find me at a random sidewalk cafe, or a restaurant with outdoor seating. Place like La Fata Ignorante and Pizza Zizza usually fit those needs, but I often branch out to find new and interesting places.
